Syrian refugee hands out free food on the streets to show his appreciation to Germany

Kindness goes a long way, and the efforts of one Syrian man ‘paying it forward’ while taking asylum in Germany has the internet abuzz with his compassion and generosity.

This kind soul set up a table with rice, bread, and what appears to be a stew, ready to give to passerby, accompanying a sign which read, “Give Something Back To German People.”

Another sign taped to the table explains the man’s plight:

It’s Christian Syrian German Project to Help the Homeless People or Any Body need Help in Germany

Our Target is to give something back to People who helped Us.

We are not consumer people but we are people who love tender

We want to be a positive part in the German community.

Want to be one hand (Syrian And German citizens) to help the others and help each others.

With all that the man may have gone through to get to where he is today, it’s incredible to see that he’s taken his situation in great stride while also trying to help others, anyone at all, who may be in need.

This photo has gone viral after being posted to Reddit yesterday, gaining almost 4000 comments.

Germany has opened its doors to thousands of Syrian refugees, with more than 450,000 due by the end of the year, reports the Mirror.
