Last spring, we shared the story of a blind dog named Fiona and the rescue organization, Hope for Paws, that helped restore her health and place her in a loving home.

Now Hope for Paws is making headlines again, this time for the moving rescue and recovery of a homeless dog named Bethany.

Hope for Paws, run by Eldad Hagar, teamed up with the Bill Foundation, run by Annie Hart, to rescue a sickly dog suffering from severe non-contagious mange and bacterial infections.

"There are so many dogs in the world who are living on the streets in horrible condition, and every day, thousands of people just walk by them as if nothing is wrong. Bethany will show you how much she wanted to be rescued...she knew how much she needed it or she would have died a miserable death," Hagar wrote on Facebook.

"Bethany has quite the gentle and trusting spirit and she allowed us to bathe her and scrub off ALL of the infected areas. She didn’t fight us at all, but the pain she was experiencing had to be unbearable. She must have known that we were there to help her," wrote Hart.

"Everyday, Bethany made remarkable progress and like a phoenix rising from the ashes, watching her transformation has been an awe inspiring journey," Eldad wrote on YouTube.

Bethany is now looking for a loving adoptive family.

"She's proven to be incredibly gentle, affectionate and smart, picking up training very quickly," wrote the Bill Foundation on Bethany's Petfinder page. "Her fur may never grow back completely, but she'll always remain an unstoppable beauty!"
