Teddy Rescue: British train company reunites lost toys with their owners

Teddy Rescue

First Great Western is trying to make the holidays a little easier on families dealing with the loss of a [stuffed] love one.

Its “Teddy Rescue” campaign helps reunite lost stuffed animals with the children who left them behind on trains throughout the U.K. by posting mugshots of the lonely toys on First Great Western’s website and Facebook page.

According to the site:

“Unable to negotiate the gap unaided, these little bears and other cute cuddly toys have been separated from their families. Eventually, aided by our helpful and friendly staff, they have found their way to Lost Property in the vaults of Bristol Temple Meads Station.”

“They have been fed, looked after and many adventures have been had. But now they are missing loved ones and want to return home.”

When someone spots their child’s missing toy, all they have to do is email the company with a description of their lost item, “the direction of escape (where they were lost)” and their name and contact information.

The “Teddy Rescue” initiative coincides with the upcoming release of a movie about beloved children’s character Paddington Bear, who was found in London’s Paddington Railway Station — although there is no official partnership with the film, TODAY reported.
