Texas shelter barks ‘I love you’

This adorable Boston Terrier wants some macaroni and cheese so bad that he practically speaks to his owner asking for it!

Ever wish your pet could talk?

Domino, a Boston terrier from the Pets Fur People animal shelter in Tyler, Texas, can say, "I love you" — or at least that's what we hear.

"I was pretty surprised myself, but it's very obvious he says I love you, I love you," said Gayle Helms, who works at the no-kill shelter.

"I think he's probably one in a million," Helms told KLTV.

Domino's verbal declarations of affection — his distinctive bark is most often heard when people are walking away — helped land him a new owner, local resident Donna Bryan. He was adopted on Tuesday.

"When the lady adopting him came in — she's a real nice lady who has adopted from us before — she said, 'He talks to me,'" Terry Cashion, Operations Manager at the Pets Fur People shelter, told the Daily Mail.

"I said, 'All our dogs talk to you' and she said, 'This one's special,' so we went out and listened. You can plainly hear 'I love you.' He says it when you're walking away because he's worried you're leaving him. He's a sweetheart, he really is."

Domino was found as a stray in Tyler three weeks ago. Shelter workers quickly discovered he had been only recently abandoned as he was partially house-trained, loved car rides, and could walk on a leash.

Domino is the second dog Bryan has adopted from Pets Fur People. Bryan is also owner to another Boston Terrier and a Jack Russell.

'When we get a Boston we try to have them adopted by someone who already has one or his familiar with them. [Domino's new owner] has a 13-year-old Boston and Domino is a precious little dog, so sweet," Cashion told the Daily Mail.
