This cop’s good deed was captured in a heartwarming picture, showing the officer holding the hand of a lost elderly woman and guiding her home.

Eighty-year-old Roberta Crowley was going on her daily walk with her dogs when she wandered off of the road and into the woods, reports Global News.

When the dogs returned to the house without her, Roberta’s daughter knew something was wrong.

Luckily, within 40 minutes of calling the police, members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office were able to find her.

At first she seemed confused at the sudden appearance of police officers, the department wrote on their Facebook group. She asked them if they were taking a walk as well, and they said yes.

After admitting to the group of sheriffs that she had lost her way, Officer Brandon Morrison told her “no problem,” gently took her hand and helped her get home.

The photo of the heartwarming gesture has more than 221,000 likes and 51,000 shares since being posted last week.

The officer who took the photo, Sgt. Clarence Black, told WUSA-9 that he was surprised with how it blew up.

“I didn’t expect it to go that big,” he said. “It was just something small that these guys do every day.”

“He portrayed what a police officer is. You know, we’re here to serve the public, that’s why we take this oath.”
