Three simple words can save someones life.

“Are you okay?” asked Jamie Harrington, a teenage boy from Dublin to a man standing on the edge of a Dublin bridge.

After taking the time to speak to the distressed stranger, Harrington has shared the inspiring story with photographer Peter Varga, who runs the Humans of Dublin Photography project.

“I told him to please let me ring an ambulance, that I wouldn’t sleep knowing he was just walking around alone,” Harrington told Varga.

Harrington’s story, quoted from his encounter with the photographer, has been posted to the project’s Facebook page.

“And about three months ago, he texted me that his wife is pregnant, they’re having a boy, and they’re naming him after me,” Harrington told Varga. “Can you believe that?”

Harrington has become somewhat of an overnight celebrity, and the post has since been shared over 2,000 times and liked more than 20,000 times.

Raising awareness of mental health is important to Harrington, who was previously diagnosed with depression when he was only 13, the Irish Examiner reports.

Harrington currently works as an ambassador for mental health organizations SpunOut.ie and Teenline Ireland.
