It was all fun and games until Kevin Hart tied Draymond Green in a 3-point contest

When Kevin Hart challenged Warriors forward Draymond Green to a 3-point contest last week, we all had a good laugh. After all, Green's shooting 42 percent from distance this year, and Hart is a freakin' comedian.

Surely, you jest, 5-foot-4 Kevin Hart, thought the 6-foot-7 Draymond Green, who accepted Hart's challenge.

The two spent the past week trading barbs on social media, culminating in Green saying he originally accepted the challenge as a joke, but was prepared to lay the smack down. To which Hart responded:

Not about to let a marketing ploy escape its grasp, the NBA forced a Hart-Green matchup between the skills competition and 3-point contest. All in good fun, right? Well, until Hart actually matched Green's score of 12.  Whoever decides these things determined Hart didn't get the tying shot off in time, possibly to avoid embarrassment, but for all intents and purposes the star of "Ride Along 2" proved equal to an NBA champ.

That's right: An NBA All-Star, one of the game's best players, could not beat Kevin Hart in a shooting competition. We will never stop hearing about this. Hart is on every other commercial — including one, naturally, with Green right after this exhibition — and he is seemingly ominpresent on our television screens.

The result was so surprising that a scripted bit after the competition — Green hoisting a trophy the size of Hart and pinning a runner-up ribbon on the comedian — fell flat when they tried to force it after the upset.

Now, if only Louis CK would challenge Zach LaVine to a dunk contest, then we'd have some real comedy.
