Actress Rachael Leigh Cook has had a pretty quiet career since her "Josie and the Pussycats" days. So you might not even know that in 2004 she got married to Winnipeg-born, New Zealand-raised actor Daniel Gillies. AKA, the sweetest man in the world.
Or at least he comes off that way in an interview on Celebuzz.com. Gillies is pretty familiar with supernatural creatures after a brief stint on "True Blood" and from his role of Elijah on "The Vampire Diaries," but when he compares himself to Cook he says he's more like the "Beast" to her "Beauty."
"One thing nobody talks about in marriage is how increasingly attracted you can get to your partner. It's one of those things that nobody ever discusses. I find her more attractive every day. I know that sounds like a cute thing to say — but it's true. I find her more beautiful all the time. She's so delicious. Luckily she wants to be with me. I don't know why," he said, also mentioning that sometimes he'll give a thumbs-up towards the skies in a moment of gratitude to some higher power for bringing them together.
If his dark eyes, chiseled cheekbones, and perfectly-imperfect five o'clock shadow wasn't enough to make your legs turn to jelly (we certainly don't think he's Beastly)- that pretty much caps it off. But we have a feeling Cook feels just as lucky.
So he's attractive and sensitive, but nobody's perfect...right? Not only does Gillies play a hotshot surgeon on the Canadian summer soap "Saving Hope," currently airing on NBC in the States and CTV in Canada, but he actually admitted he rarely watches TV, preferring to "geek out" and read a lot. And we don't mean summer fluff literature; he's currently reading Noam Chomsky and Albert Einstein's biography.
"I'm not clever. I'm trying to be but I'm failing dismally," he said.
And he's humble too!
