‘Chavril’ mashups make the Internet rounds

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger only announced their engagement on Tuesday, but already the mashups are coming quickly and furiously.

First there was the name mashup. #Chavril began trending online as early as Tuesday evening, entering the pop culture vernacular faster than TomKat, Brangelina, Robsten, or Kimye.

The name was later adopted for some unnerving mashups of the Canadian singers' faces to create their "love child," Chavril (an even more nightmare-inducing image than fake baby Jayonce).

And, now, the inevitable musical union. Yesterday, Insanity Wolf, a SoundCloud user from New York, uploaded a mashup of Lavigne's pop hit "Complicated" and Nickelback's rock tracks "How You Remind Me" and "Rockstar" in order to create "Chavril Krovigne - This Is How You Remind Me That Being A Rock Star Is Complicated."

Lavigne's and Kroeger's union came as a surprise to many fans who had no idea they were even together. But apparently, the duo fell for each other six months ago while collaborating on a track for Lavigne's fifth album. Let's just hope it doesn't sound anything like Insanity Wolf's creation.
