Who knows if he has the charm of the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” but Drake sure knows how to treat a girl on her birthday. And lucky for her, that girl happens to be TV star turned R&B singer Tatyana Ali.
Ali, who starred as Ashley on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" from 1990 to 1996, turned 34 on Jan. 24, and to celebrate, she hit L.A.'s trendy Supperclub nightclub on Tuesday night. The bar was packed, there were women hanging and dancing from the ceiling, and Ali was surrounded by friends — what more could a 30-something woman ask for in a birthday party? Perhaps an appearance by the multiplatinum “Take Care” rapper Drake, and maybe even a hug and a kiss on the cheek?
It seems that Ali’s dream came true, because photos surfaced of the two musicians getting very cozy together. Ali’s friend Lorielle Broussard tweeted throughout the evening, posting rumour-inducing photos of the 26-year-old Toronto native rapper planting a big one on the birthday girl.
“& @Drake just walked in...bi$%*es went cray cray!! I can't!! LOL...I'm dying!” Broussard tweeted sometime after midnight. “He looks better in person & with the scruff...guys always look good with the scruff!...Gotta love LA...livin tha life!”
For Ali and her friends, Drizzy apparently bought a bottle of Armand de Brignac champagne — also known as “Ace of Spades,” which is Jay-Z’s drink of choice and can cost up to $475 per bottle. HollywoodLife even claims they left the club together at the end of the night!
Neither Ali nor Drake has confirmed or denied that they are more than friends, though Ali has previously stated her love for the rapper when The Huffington Post asked her what she would call a reality TV show based on her life.
“‘Dirty Laundry,’ or ‘I Love Drake!’ — in which I stalk him on tour and try to make him realize we’re meant to be together. God, I love his voice,” said the Harvard grad, who’s currently starring in “Second Generation Wayans” on BET.
Until we hear definitively whether or not the luxury champagne was Drake’s version of a love note to Ali, we can daydream about how great it would be if these two former TV child stars became an item. After "Fresh Prince," Ali pursued a music career, with her debut album, “Kiss the Sky,” reaching gold status in 1999. She also dated the now-deceased '90s heartthrob Jonathan Brandis from 1995 to 1998.

And, as we all know, Aubrey Drake Graham got his start on “Degrassi: The Next Generation” as Jimmy Brooks in 2001. He left the show in 2009 when his music career started to take off. With the single “Best I Ever Had,” Drake quickly went from a Canadian TV star to one of the biggest names in hip-hop. He’s been romantically linked to other musicians such as Rihanna, Rita Ora, and Nicki Minaj.
All this is to say that Ali and Drake are meant to be together, right? If they meet up again, we hope Ali won’t tell him to “mind your business” instead of thanking him for his birthday gift. But, seeing as it's Drake, he would probably just say ,“Thank Me Later.”
