‘Homeland’ star Diego Klattenhoff was in ‘Mean Girls’!

Let Hollywood's movie and TV actors be warned: if you see Diego Klattenhoff on the set, you better keep an eye on your wives or girlfriends. Or rather, your characters' wives or girlfriends.

The Nova Scotia native is best known for his role on the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning drama "Homeland." Klattenhoff plays Mike Faber, former best friend of Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) and secret lover of Brody's wife, Jess (Morena Baccarin). (In Mike and Jess's defence, they both believed Brody had been killed in combat in Baghdad at the time.)

But this isn't the first time one of Klattenhoff's characters has intruded on a relationship. "Mean Girls," anyone?

The actor landed one of his first big roles in the 2004 comedy smash hit, in which he got up close and personal with fellow Canadian Rachel McAdams. Klattenhoff played Shane Oman, Regina George's boy toy -- yes, the guy Regina cheated with in the projection room above the auditorium.

Before hitting it big in "Homeland," Klattenhoff also fine-tuned his acting chops in CanCon movies and TV shows like a West-Coast drama called "Whistler," and a TV movie based on the life of Shania Twain, "Shania: A Life in Eight Albums." But those didn't nearly achieve the success of "Mean Girls" or "Homeland," and Klattenhoff got to spend a night with his co-stars from both at the 70th Annual Golden Globes on Sunday night.

"Mean Girls" funny girls Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were the hosts of the evening ceremony, while Damien Lewis, Claire Danes, and the entire "Homeland" team went home with golden statues for best actor, best actress, and best drama.

"Hopefully we'll have a good seat and I'll get to say hello," Klattenhoof told Yahoo! previous to the Golden Globes about running into Fey and Poehler again. "Actually, Amy was sitting not too far from me last year, so I had a quick chance to talk to her. It's always exciting to see them again, so I can't wait."

He also has fond memories of working with McAdams, and described filming "Mean Girls" as "an incredible experience."

"I remember sitting with a cast-mate after being on the set with Rachel McAdams and just thinking, 'Wow, this girl is going to be a star,'" he recently told Men's Fitness magazine. “And well, the rest is history."

Coming up next for Klattenhoff is Guillermo Del Toro's epic "Pacific Rim" about a war between giants and giant robots.
