Ryan, Ryan, Ryan. What did you do? Ryan Gosling, one of our favourite oft-shirtless actors, apparently has a secret criminal record - well, not so secret anymore, because it's all out now.
According to Star Magazine, the mag that broke the story, Gosling was arrested wayyyyy back on March 17, 2005 in Los Angeles and charged with driving under the influence. (But he's Canadian! Canadians are much too polite for such behaviour, aren't they? Aren't they?!)
The original charges for "driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs" and "driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or greater" were later dropped, according to Radar Online. And the future "Drive" star pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of "exhibiting speed." (Lindsay Lohan should hire him as a legal consultant!)
Radar Online reports that the lesser charge "is frequently negotiated as a plea bargain by defense attorneys as an alternative to a more severe DUI charge." Gosling was reportedly fined $849 and completed two years of probation.
So Gosling isn't the faultless knight in shining armour we thought he was? Well, that's what we get for setting a standard that was impossible to live up to. The real question is: how did Gosling keep this under wraps for so long?
