Shenae Grimes channels ’90s style at Golden Globes

North Stars

Shenae Grimes may star on a remake of a popular 1990s TV show, but someone should tell her that her every day wardrobe doesn't need to reflect that.

The "90210" star  channeled her predecessor, "Beverly Hills 90210" heroine Brenda Walsh, on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday night in a retro dress that recalled the best of the original series' '90s fashion.

Grimes showed up for the InStyle after party in a long grey lace number, which was overlayed with a tunic-style little black dress. She topped off the look with black ankle boots (not Docs, sadly) and a chunky braided gold upturned triangle necklace.

"En route to @InStyle globes afterparty rockin my loves @pamelalovenyc #theReformation #chanel XXX " she tweeted, in reference to jewelry designer Pamela Love and  vintage L.A. clothing boutique The Reformation.

The 22-year-old star also seemed to decide on a last-minute up 'do, having posted a photo from her car pre-red carpet in a leather jacket, her hair down.

But this is not the first time Annie Wilson has embraced Brenda Walsh. Last year, the Torontonian sported a pair of high-waisted acid-wash jean shorts that harked back to the beach club clothes Bren wore in Season 3. Talk about the anxiety of influence!
