Why did Bryan Adams name his new baby Lula RosyLea?

Bryan Adams sure can pick 'em -- baby names, we mean.

Earlier this week the 53-year-old "18 til I Die" singer became a dad for the second time when his girlfriend, Alicia Grimaldi, gave birth to Lula RosyLea. The newborn joins older sister Mirabella Bunny, who was born in April 2011.

So what's the story behind the Adams babies' adorable names?

The Canadian musician explained that his latest arrival, who was born in London, is named for her birthplace in addition to a famous pop song (of course).

"Lula Rosylea arrived @ teatime this wk. a cup of 'rosie lee' = 'cup of tea' in cockney," Adams tweeted yesterday afternoon, ("cockney" meaning cockney rhyming slang). "Lula comes from Gene Vincent's song Be-Bop-A-Lula."

He used timing to name his first child, Mirabella Bunny, as well.

“She arrived like all good Easter bunnies, on Easter Friday,” he said in a statement at the time of her birth.

The Kingston native only revealed he was dating Grimaldi, his personal assistant, when they announced they were expecting Mirabella Bunny in March 2011. But things seem to be going swimmingly.

"Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes," Adams tweeted Friday morning. "Baby and mama are doing well"
