Lou Reed’s Spotify playlist gives insight into late rocker’s musical tastes

The news that rock legend Lou Reed passed away at the age of 71 on Sunday hit many in the music community hard. He was extremely influential as a songwriter and guitarist, and as a member of the Velvet Underground in the late 1960s.

As many try to reconcile his death, those who loved him and those who are just learning who this influential man was are searching for insight today into the real Lou Reed. And it’s a bit of an unlikely source, but one place people are turning to in order to learn more about him is Spotify.

The digital music streaming service includes a widget you can embed on websites that shows what a person has been listening to, or playlists they’ve created. The Daily Dot discovered that just like many of us, Reed enjoyed listening to some Internet radio from time to time, and had an eclectic mix of musical tastes.
