Zelda fans given quest ahead of ‘The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword’ release

Puzzle-loving Zelda fans are in for a special treat — if they're in Toronto.

Nintendo has hidden Master Swords throughout Toronto in advance of the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Nintendo Wii. To find the swords, you need a QR code from one of the few media outlets who were given one. But which outlets were given the codes is a secret not even The Right Click is privy to.

Matt Ryan, Communications Manager at Nintendo of Canada, says that secrecy is all part of the plan.

"We haven't released a lot of information because we want the fans to figure it out and start talking in their online and social communities about it," Ryan said in a Media in Canada press release. "It's a great way to build momentum and buzz for a short period of time until the game releases."

Zelda fans won't have to wait long to find out more about the game, either. On November 7, more information about Skyward Sword will be shared during Nintendo's pre-launch event for the game (in a secret location, of course).

For those unable to make it to Toronto for the hunt, fans can take a picture with the Master Sword in select cinemas in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto.

My one hope is that those who are lucky enough to find these hidden Master Swords are rewarded with this sound effect at the end of their quest.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be released November 20. It is the second Legend of Zelda game to be released for the Nintendo Wii.
