British teen Charlie Jones goes viral thanks to ‘Belieber For Life’ song

How do you get your girlfriend to stop fantasizing about Justin Bieber? Become him.

Charlie Jones, a 14-year-old British singer-songwriter, has gone viral by turning his girlfriend's obsession with the Canadian pop star into his own hit tune, "Belieber for Life."

The song only went up on YouTube in April (iTunes started selling it last week) and already has more than 300,000 views. Reminiscent of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful," the track has Jones singing lyrics like, "She's a Belieber/And I couldn't keep her if I tried/She loves Justin Bieber/And maybe one day' she'll be his wife."

The song has already caught the Biebs' attention -- well, his manager's attention, anyway. Scooter Braun recently tweeted a link to Jones' song and the message, "@derekhough just sent me this song because he said he relates :)"

Jones, who writes his own songs and has also uploaded a number of covers to his YouTube page, spoke to the U.K. website News Shopper last week about his newfound fame (which encompasses England as well as Denmark, New Zealand and Brazil).

“The best things about being famous are being recognized and making fans happy with a simple message or a kiss," Jones said.

The London-based student is currently juggling his studies at an all-boys school with plans to record another single and an album. He studies singing and dancing every Saturday -- when he's not fighting off the girls, that is. (In one of his YouTube videos, Jones says he is currently "single and ready to mingle" and, yes, he would date a fan).

"I’m quite relieved he’s at a boy’s school because he has a lot of teenage girls after him," Jones's mother told News Shopper. "Charlie's quite bashful and humble and takes it all in his stride."

Jones reportedly surprised his family with his singing abilities at age 8.

"One day we saw him in a school production and he just came out with a microphone and we were just blown away by his voice. We had no idea," his mom said, adding, "now he’s officially signed to a label."

But in case Bieber is worried about his new competition, Jones has only affection for the 20-year-old "Boyfriend' singer. In a Q&A last month he confessed, "I'd love to do sing and do a duet with Justin Bieber."
