Maxim is releasing their annual Hot 100 list online bit by bit ahead of its June 3 unveiling (the top 10 is still unavailable) and a strong Canadian contingent has already emerged.
Laura Vandervoort tops the list so far at No. 17. The 29-year-old Toronto native currently stars in the Canadian series "Bitten" as a female werewolf, and the actress tweeted her excitement at making the list on Wednesday night.

Following Vandervoort at No. 44 is Napanee pop star Avril Lavigne (who last made the list in 2011 at 34). Then there is "Castle" star Stana Katic (No. 50), "Revenge" actress Emily VanCamp (No. 51), and "True Blood" star Anna Paquin (No. 78 -- an improvement from her appearance in 2010 at No. 84).
Rounding out the 100-strong list are Oshawa native and "Criminal Minds" star A.J. Cook (No. 88) as well as Calgary-born "Black Sails" star Jessica Parker Kennedy (No. 94).
Though we have yet to see whether a Canadian will make No. 1, it would be the first time since 2000 that a Canuck celeb will have topped the list. In the inaugural year of the Hot 100, Peterborough model and swimmer Estella Warren came in first place. "Mad Men" star Jessica Paré first appeared on the list at No. 72 in 2001, and we have a feeling she'll appear in the top 10 this year.
In the past 14 years, a number of Canadians have regularly appeared on Maxim's Hot 100 list. They include Calgary-born "Happy Endings" star Elisha Cuthbert (who made No. 10 in 2013), but also Victoria singer Nelly Furtado and Toronto-born actress Mia Kirshner. In the past five years, Canadian actresses Malin Akerman, Nina Dobrev and Emmanuelle Chriqui have been regulars on the list as well.
Which Canadian stars do you think should make Maxim's Hot 100 top 10?
