Alexander Skarsgard may have played Zoolander's dim-witted roommate Meekus, but in a new video for Calvin Klein's "Encounter," he's got the Blue Steel look down pat.

When the print ads for the men's fragrance came out in June, featuring a stone-faced Skarsgard romancing model Lara Stone, we knew that the video counterpart was going to be intense. And now that the TV spot has been released, we are not disappointed.

With a sleek car, a rainy night, and a clifftop modern mansion, the ad is a two-minute testament to film noir. Plus, there are lots of smouldering stares from the 35-year-old "True Blood" star. Lots of them.

"The idea for their concept was very intriguing to me — it was almost like a short film and very film noir. It felt interesting to me ... I wanted to be involved with something where you tell a story — even though it's a short story," Skarsgard said back in June.

The video sure doesn't give too many clues as to what the story exactly is, but it's only part of a larger digital campaign for "Encounter" that will roll out across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Under the title "'Dare to Encounter," users will discover their story of "unresolved tension and desire."

To say we're intrigued would be an understatement! With Skarsgard and Stone as our subjects, we're on the case.
