The JuiceBritney’s financial records revealed, and she’s a bargain hunter!
A world tour, a hit collaboration with will.i.am, and a star turn on “The X-Factor” have all meant that Britney Spears has made quite a lot of money over the past couple of years. But new legal documents which were released online have revealed that the 31-year-old still has an eye for a bargain and regularly spends money in dollar stores and fast food joints.
The legal paperwork was filed as part of Britney's conservatorship, which put her father, Jamie, in charge of her affairs after her much-publicized breakdown in 2007. The arrangement, which is similar to the one Amanda Bynes is reportedly currently entering into, offers an intriguing glimpse into the life of the megastar.
According to the documents, Britney’s conservatorship earned more than $14 million in 2012, of which she spent just $6.8 million. It sounds like a lot, but look a little closer at the figures and it becomes clear that, despite her fortune, Britney is still a bargain hunter at heart.
Those bargains include around $75 which was spent at dollar stores, alongside a bundle of receipts for the star’s favourite fast food joints, including Domino’s, Starbucks, McDonald's and In-N-Out Burger. It’s not all fast food and one-buck bargains, however. Britney is also reported to have spent $500 on manicures and $3,400 on Christmas lights. The biggest expense outside of her housing arrangements was the $33,959 she spent on grooming and wardrobe — a relatively meagre budget for such a big star.
But while Spears is clearly watching the pennies, the documents also reveal that the pop star’s fortune is growing. The paperwork shows that her conservatorship alone is worth $36.4 million — and that doesn’t even cover her overall net worth, which would also include a significant slice of the profits from her $68 million Femme Fatale tour and the reported $15 million paycheque she received for her role on “The X Factor.”
