Death Occurs at Singer Olivia Newton-John’s Florida Home

A dead 42-year-old male was found today at the Jupiter, Florida, home of Australian pop singer Olivia Newton-John, omg! can confirm.

Police were called at 12 p.m. ET and a preliminary investigation determined that a male had sustained a gun shot wound and was dead at the time of officers arrived on the scene.

"I know that there's a lot going out right now that it was a suicide," Sergeant Scott Pascarella tells omg!. "We haven't confirmed that to any media outlets though."

The Jupiter Police Department is continuing to work closely with the Jupiter Inlet Colony Police Department concerning this death investigation, which is ongoing. The investigation is currently pending an outcome of an autopsy report. The autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

The identity of the man is not being made public although he was a contractor hired by the homeowners.

The police sergeant also confirms that the residents were not home at the time of the incident. Newton-John, 64, and her husband, 61-year-old herb company founder John Easterling, are currently out of town.

"There's nothing suspicious at this point," the Sergeant Pascarella added. Additional details concerning the name of the deceased and cause of death will be released as it becomes available.

Tragedy struck the "Grease" star earlier this year. On May 24, her sister Rona Newton-John passed away from an aggressive brain tumor.
