Three decades after starring on "Happy Days," the days are reportedly not so happy for Joanie Cunningham.
Erin Moran, the now 51-year-old actress who played Joanie on "Happy Days" from 1974 to 1984, is allegedly destitute, making her home in a trailer park in Indiana.
According to RadarOnline (via the National Enquirer, so let's not jump to too many conclusions), Moran shares the trailer with husband Steve Fleischmann, a furniture mover, and his mother. The news comes after a 2010 report in TMZ stating the former child star had been evicted from her California home after it went into foreclosure.
Though a 2009 photo of Moran (above) shows her as instantly recognizable with the same wavy hair and big smile she had on "Happy Days," her new neighbours have reportedly been unable to recognize her.
Moran began her career in 1966, landing several guest appearances before rising to fame as Joanie on "Happy Days," a role she expanded in the 1982 spinoff "Joanie Loves Chachi," alongside co-star Scott Baio.
After "Happy Days," Moran struggled to find acting work, appearing in only a handful of roles. In 2007, her old co-star Baio threw her a bone and had her appear in his reality show "Scott Baio is 45 and Single." The next year, she appeared in "Celebrity Fit Club," which Moran claimed she did only for the money.
The actress, along with a number of her "Happy Days" cast mates, recently filed a $10 million lawsuit against CBS over the show's merchandising that uses their likenesses. Whether or not the lawsuit is a success, things may be looking up for the troubled icon. Moran is set to appear this year in a film called "The Deceit," opposite "Back to the Future" alum Courtney Gains.
