Nick Offerman on his moustache: ‘It seems like a blessing, but it’s a lot to handle’

Step aside, Channing Tatum, because you're not the only sexy man in Hollywood honoured by People Magazine. Nick Offerman, best known for playing Ron Swanson on the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation," was also named "Sexiest Man Alive" this year in the magazine's moustache edition -- "a high honour," as Offerman called it while appearing on "Conan" on Tuesday night.

But if you think it's easy to maintain such a pristine moustache, think again: Offerman explained to O'Brien that his facial hair is both a blessing and a curse.

"We trim it three times a day -- second breakfast, lunchtime, and teatime," joked Offerman. "By the time I get up in the morning it's about down to my chin. It seems like a blessing, but it's a lot to handle."

The 42-year-old actor, writer, and carpenter offered a few more "secrets" to his daily maintenance. After Conan O'Brien complimented his natural musk, Offerman revealed an unexpected tip: bacon grease from his breakfast.

"I just dab a little bit behind my ears, it drives them wild," he said.

"By 'them' you mean ravens," O'Brien fired back.

O'Brien went on to voice what everyone else was probably thinking: "God, you're the ultimate man in so many ways," he told Offerman.

So, who's the lucky lady who gets to live with the world's most ultimate man? That would be Offerman's wife, comedian Megan Mullally, best known as Karen on "Will & Grace" and Swanson's ex-wife Tammy on "Parks and Recreation." And wouldn't you know it, Offerman isn't bad at love ballads, either, as his October 2012 performance on "Late Show with David Letterman" proved.

Movember might be over until next year, but with any luck, now that Offerman has divulged all his manly maintenance how-to's, we'll soon see a lot more Offerman-inspired moustaches on the streets.
