Tuesdays are rough. And if you’re in Canada, the weather probably isn’t boosting your early-week blues. So here's a Tuesday afternoon pick-me-up to wipe your troubles away: Tom Hardy and a grey pit bull puppy, together at last.
The 35-year-old villain of “The Dark Knight Rises” was snapped cuddling the tiny pooch in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Monday. The actor was on the set of “Animal Rescue,” a new thriller from screenwriter Dennis Lehane, known as the author of novels-turned-blockbusters like “Shutter Island” and “Mystic River.” Tom Hardy seems like a perfect fit for Lehane’s gritty style, but with an adorable little pup on the set, he’s got major competition for his audience’s affections.
Since they’re working so closely together, it’s a good thing this man and man’s best friend seem to be getting along. They were seen walking together, playing with a bone-shaped chew toy together, and snuggling together, as Hardy hugged the little tike into his big blue jacket on a chilly-looking day at Brooklyn’s waterfront.
Hardy is a known dog lover. He had a pet dog Max, and reportedly adopted another one while on the set of “Lawless,” which he named Woodstock. He also recently posted a photo to Instagram with an adult grey pit bull captioned “with my cute.” This could be another co-star in “Animal Rescue,” which hopefully means that Hardy is enjoying the film shoots just as much as we are enjoying the photos from those shoots.
A “crime-drama focusing on a lost pit bull, a wannabe scam artist, and a killing,” “Animal Rescue” also stars Noomi Rapace, James Gandolfini, and Matthias Schoenaerts and is based on a short story by Lehane, Variety reports.
But even without any more information, “Animal Rescue” now has thousands more fans probably already lining up to see the crime flick. As they say, any press (with puppies) is good press.
