For anyone who went through an awkward tween phase - and, honestly, there's a lot of us - we have a new role model. The golden-haired beauty Emma Stone was once one of us, too.

A former classmate of the 24-year-old actress recently unearthed their middle school yearbook and found a fresh-faced Stone around 11 or 12 years old, and uploaded the photo to Reddit, where it became an instant hit.

The user "hookedupphat" said that after reading Stone's bio on Wikipedia, they realized they had attended the same middle school for one year, which we can guess is Cocopah Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona. In the yearbook, Stone goes by her birth name, Emily Stone (she changed her name because "Emily Stone" was taken in the Screen Actors Guild).

Some users mentioned friends of friends who acted with her at Phoenix's Valley Youth Theatre while others thought she looked like a regular kid. With a stick straight bob and a side part, lots of freckles, and braces - she does look like a typical North American kid. But cute, really cute. It's not surprising we've seen that smile so many times now.

The years since Grade Six at Cocopah Middle School have been very kind to Stone. Her parents moved her to L.A. at the age of 15 in 2004, where she got small TV cameos until her big break in "Superbad" with Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. Since then, she has starred in "Easy A," "Crazy Stupid Love," "The Help," and "The Amazing Spiderman."

The latter film was where she met her boyfriend, 29-year-old Andrew Garfield. Together, they're arguably one of Hollywood's most adorable (and charitable) couples, who, after just over a year of dating, have bought a $2.5 million Beverly Hills home together.

But Garfield's not her only admirer. Stone has grown into a stunner of a young woman, even attracting the eye of Canadian comic icon Jim Carrey.

Stone has a number of promising projects coming up in 2013 - including falling for Ryan Reynolds in DreamWorks Animation's "The Croods," a short film in the anthology "Movie 43," the period action flick "Gangster Squad" with Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn, an untitled romance by Cameron Crowe, and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" co-starring Garfield.

And even though she's a superstar today (possibly even one with her own sex tape), it's always nice to know that at one time, she was just another kid.
