Watch a teenage Kelly Ripa slow dance on ‘Dancin’ on Air’ in the 1980s

She may be known for shaking her stuff to the Chicken Noodle Soup these days, but as a teenager, Kelly Ripa was all about slow dancing.

In a vintage video found by the Huffington Post, a pre-"All My Children" Ripa appears on "Dancin' on Air," swaying to Corey Hart's "By Your Side." The teen dancer can be seen staring lovingly at her partner, Mike, while sporting a cheerleading outfit and some serious '80s hair, complete with grown-out perm, and blown-back bangs.

Ripa joined the Philly-based show in the early '80s, appearing as a regular dancer before going on to strut her stuff on its renamed successor, "Dance Party USA," which debuted in 1986. She reportedly landed her break-out role on "All My Children" four years later, after sending a compilation tape of her appearances on both dancing shows.

Two decades later, the 41-year-old "Live! With Kelly" host hasn't left her dancing past behind. Highlights from "Live With Regis and Kelly's" 20th Anniversary episode show her doing everything from belly dancing to dirty dancing (with Ashton Kutcher). Thankfully, she has left her bouffant 'do behind.
