Bob Hartley, Flames coach, fined $50K for part in brawl

The NHL fined Calgary head coach Bob Hartley $50,000 US on Saturday for his responsibility in an incident late in the Flames' playoff loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Friday night.

Vancouver evened the series at one game apiece with a 4-1 victory. But the incident with 1:17 remaining resulted in 132 minutes in penalties and six game misconducts — including three to Calgary's Deryk Engelland.

Hartley was fined $25,000 for a similar incident during the 2013-14 regular season.

The good news for Calgary, though, was the game misconduct assessed to Engelland for instigating a fight in the last five minutes of regulation was rescinded.
