Body of man discovered in burnt-down shed on Acadian Peninsula

Man found after Canada-wide warrant issued for patient missing from Coquitlam psychiatric hospital

The body of a 74-year-old man was discovered Tuesday night in a shed destroyed by fire in Tilley Road, N.B., say RCMP.

Foul play is not suspected at this time, Cpl. Steven Breau of the Tracadie detachment said in a statement on Wednesday morning.

The investigation is continuing, he said.

Police found the man's body when they responded to a residence in Tilley Road at around 8 p.m., said Breau. The body was inside a shed that had burned down, he said.

Identification services, the canine unit and the fire marshal were also at the scene.

Tilley Road is about 12 kilometres northwest of Tracadie-Sheila.
