·1 min read

A suspected bomb threat at the city’s courthouse led to that building and the adjacent city hall and public library to be temporarily evacuated Thursday morning.

The threat made by phone was deemed credible by police, with officers, the fire department and EMS dispatched to the courthouse around 11:30 a.m.

The scene was cleared 45 minutes later. City police continue to investigate.

Weapon’s complaint in Northlands

City police were dispatched to Northlands over the noon hour Thursday following a complaint of a man with a weapon.

Police were able to peacefully resolve the matter, which took place in the area of Northlands Lane.

However, about two hours earlier and a short distance away, an incident at Northlands Plaza saw the Posh Wash lock its doors and call police after three individuals threatened to kill a person working at the laundromat.

An individual at Posh Wash who wished not to be identified said police were unable to attend that incident.

It’s not known if the two incidents are connected.
