Boston: Plans submitted to build over 140 affordable homes

Plans have been put forward to build 142 new affordable homes in Boston.

An unnamed developer submitted the proposals to build the large development on land near Puritan Way.

The development would see two-storey high houses with 16 one-bedrooms, 80 two-bedrooms, 37 three-bedrooms and nine four-bedrooms.

Boston Borough Council received the planning application on 29 April from the developer.

The site was originally set to become a marina but that was found to be an uneconomic project, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

The developer said the plans represent a "logical extension" to the built-up area of Boston, given its close proximity to other housing.
