Boy, 8, who died after window fall named by police
An eight-year-old boy who died after he fell from the window of his home in Nottingham has been named by police.
Nottinghamshire Police said Hamid Balal was treated at the scene and taken to hospital after the fall in Costock Avenue, Sherwood, on Wednesday but died later from his injuries.
Officers had been called to the scene at about 19:15 BST by East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The force said Hamid’s death was not being treated as suspicious and police were working with the coroner.
Dete Insp Andrew Hall said: "This was a tragic and distressing incident.
“Hamid’s family are being supported by officers and remain in our thoughts.
“As they continue to mourn the loss of a much-loved son and brother they have requested privacy at this incredibly difficult time.”
On Thursday, neighbours expressed their sadness about what had happened.
