The Boys are back in town, and you'd better hope that town has insurance because it's going to get smashed to smithereens.

Amazon Prime Video's comic-book adaptations for grown-ups is about to debut its second season, and the streaming service has dropped a new trailer to hype up the return of Billy Butcher, his arch-nemesis Homelander and the rest.

The trailer shows that the series is still as sweary, and as gory, as ever, which is just how we like it. But there's a few new elements in season 2, including a super-powered Neo-Nazi called Stormfront.

Homelander's actor Antony Starr previously said that the new villain was a "grenade that gets thrown into Homelander's world and the world of the Seven. She really causes me so many problems".

One person that won't be back for season 2 is Simon Pegg, who recently explained that his character Hugh Campbell Sr was there to set other characters (namely Hughie) on their paths, and had done what he needed to do. That's fair, but everything is better with Simon Pegg, so we hope he pops up again the future.

While there is plenty of Billy Butcher in the trailer, he won't actually be returning home until the second episode of season 2.

His absence was going to be shown within the show itself, but those scenes were cut and reworked into a short film spin-off.

Beyond season two, it's possible that The Walking Dead actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan could join the cast, as conversations about him taking up a role have been happening.

The Boys season one is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, with season two launching on September 4.
