Brad Pitt delighting in Jennifer Aniston’s SAG Award win is #exesgoals

It’s been 15 years since Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston called it quits on their marriage, but fans of Brennifer were looking forward to a reunion during the 2020 awards season. And finally, it happened. At January 19th’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, Pitt took home the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his role in Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, and Aniston scored the trophy for Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series for her role on The Morning Show.

And Pitt could not have been happier for his former flame. We call that major #exesgoals.

After Aniston accepted her award—her first SAG Award in 25 years—she headed backstage where Pitt was waiting to congratulate her. Photographers captured a series of photos of the reunion we’ve all been waiting for, and the pics are just as good as we hoped they would be. Brad is smiling, Jen is doing her classic “I can’t believe it!” face. It’s gold.

Look at the HAND-ON-HAND ACTION. We’re not only dead, but we’re also buried and full-on zombified.

As if that weren’t entertaining enough, just check out Pitt watching Aniston win her SAG Award. All he could say was, “Wow.”

Aniston’s reaction to Pitt’s acceptance speech was also just as memorable—albeit in a different way (LOL).

Although many are attempting to use their fangirl voodoo to get these two back together, we have to remember that exes are exes for a reason, and it’s totally fair and fine if exes remain friends. (And just friends, at that.)

But…what if…

Even other celebrities are thinking what fans are thinking.

It’s true. Pitt reportedly didn’t do a good thing way back when. (Tabloids reported he cheated on Aniston with his then-costar and future-wife Angelina Jolie.) And we can forgive, but…we also can’t forget.

In Aniston’s opinion, there isn’t much gossip to spill about their meetup. “It’s hysterical,” she told Entertainment Tonight, referring to the Pitt-Aniston commentary. “But what else are they going to talk about?”

We’re just happy to see these two in the same room again. It’s definitely a full-circle/throwback moment, and in this era of reboots, revivals, and reunions, the Pitt and Aniston meetup is giving us nostalgia on a whole different level.
