  • Pitt confirmed to The New York Times that every dating rumor to emerge since his split from Angelina Jolie is absolutely false.

  • He and Jolie announced plans to divorce in September 2016 after over 10 years together and two years of marriage.

  • The renowned actor is nominated for a 2020 Golden Globe for his role as Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

In a new interview with The New York Times, Brad Pitt has refuted every dating rumor surrounding him since his 2016 split from Angelina Jolie.

When asked if he ever reads media coverage on himself, the veteran actor classily explained how completely avoiding news coverage is impossible but being able to sort through the nonsense isn’t.

“I don’t go out of my way to avoid it; I just don’t seek it out,” said Pitt. “I don’t know how many women they’ve said I’ve been dating the last two or three years, and none of it’s true—I just flashed on something, but maybe it doesn’t mean anything.” Since splitting from Jolie, Pitt has been linked to professor Neri Oxman, jewelry designer Sat Hari Khalsa, and most recently, Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development.

Pitt has remained a Hollywood mainstay for more than two decades now—carefully balancing the juxtaposing identities of Hollywood heartthrob and paparazzi magnet (usually in sync with his past marriages to Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie) with highly respected actor, director, and producer, as he’s now known for handpicking thoughtful and off-kilter films to star in or help produce.

His role as stunt double Cliff Booth in this year’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood has garnered him a 2020 Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor and named him one of the top 10 actors of the year by The New York Times. Pitt revealed during the interview that at the beginning of his career, he found his fame crippling at times, but he eventually learned to embrace the influential magic of filmmaking.

“Once I got back out in the world, I realized that you have that ability to make someone feel good for a moment,” said Pitt. “I’m not trying to say anyone is being brushed with my greatness. I’m trying to say that I have the opportunity to brighten someone’s day. That’s a rare thing.”
