Braves sign RHP Tomlin to minor-league contract

Josh Tomlin joined the Atlanta Braves at spring training on Thursday after signing a minor-league contract.

The 34-year-old right-hander appeared in five games this spring with Milwaukee, posting a 2-1 record in five starts with a 4.80 ERA. He joined the Brewers on a minor league deal on Feb. 7.

Tomlin spent his entire big league career with the Cleveland Indians. In nine major league seasons, Tomlin is 61-53 with a 4.77 ERA.

The home run ball became an issue in recent seasons with the Indians and he started only nine games in 2018.

He gave up 25 home runs last season and 84 in 88 games the past three seasons.
