Five people are facing a total of 88 charges in connection to a rash of break-ins in Winnipeg.

During the break-ins, which occurred between September and November of this year, $240,000 worth of property was stolen, including 5 vehicles, police said.

Numerous stolen credit cards were also used to make purchases at various stores within the city, police said.

Following a lengthy investigation, police used warrants to raid a home in the North Point Douglas neighbourhood, on Prince Edward Street. Several firearms were also located and seized.

Two men, aged 29 and 24, as well as three women, aged 19, 36 and 41, are charged and remain in custody.

- Carpathia Road
