Bride Tragically Killed Days Before Wedding While Hand-Delivering Invitations to Her Ceremony on Motorbike

A bride-to-be in Guatemala died in a tragic incident just days before her wedding.
Madelyn Rosely Caracun Perez, 24, and her fiancé Davilson Gesell Canimac Miranda, 29, had been driving around on a motorbike delivering wedding invitations on Dec. 4 — just ten days before their wedding — when the incident happened, according to El Heraldo de Mexico and Milenio.
The couple had been driving around a roadway near the San Cayetano farm in Guatemala’s municipality of Chicacao, Suchitepéquez, at around noon when the incident happened, per reports.
A piece of the nearby truck broke off on the roadway and hit the couple’s motorbike, according to the outlets.

Perez was thrown from the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene, authorities said, per the outlets. As for Miranda, he was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, where he is still receiving care.
Following the incident, several photos and videos began circulating of the scene, including one clip shared on TikTok which showed the area where the crash happened cordoned off with yellow tape by police. Police could be seen investigating as traffic moved to another section of the roadway.

Photos of the incident obtained by La Prensa showed the black and red motorbike laying flat on the side of the road. It didn’t appear to show any major signs of an impact. Another photo also showed the piece of transmission, which looked like a long gray bar, that led to the crash.
The family members of the couple, who were from a nearby town called Chicacao, said that the pair had been finishing up distributing their wedding invitations by hand in Aldea Nahualate in the municipality of Chicacao and Río Bravo, per El Heraldo de Mexico and Milenio.

Following the tragedy, Perez’s loved ones gathered at the scene of the crash to say their goodbyes, El Heraldo de Mexico reported. The couple’s parents are asking authorities to investigate the incident and bring whoever is responsible for it to justice, per the outlet.
Their loved ones are planning to schedule Perez's funeral in the upcoming weeks and are planning to raise money to cover costs for Miranda's hospital care, according to reports.
