The latest addition to the list of things I never knew I needed is the brilliant Hoan Bagel Guillotine Slicer. It may not be what I usually write about, but hear me out. Whether you pronounce it bagel or bagel (funny how you read those differently), there’s something about cutting into these circular buns that really irks my nerves for two reasons. First, between the stale bread and my stale knives, I can never slice a bagel in half.
