Broadcaster and marketing professional, Marty Kingston, is throwing his hat in the ring for a Councillor-at-Large seat in Moncton’s upcoming election.

Raised in Moncton, he has over 40 years of public speaking and communications experience in both official languages and said he has the time and energy required to devote to the role.

“It’s important we support the business sector in rebounding from this pandemic. We need to balance responsible and sustainable growth while being able to properly support and protect our citizens and infrastructure. I firmly believe in careful spending of our tax dollars,” he said in a press release.

While Moncton’s growth and prosperity are important to him, “so is properly addressing our growing homeless, drug addiction and mental health issues. Public safety remains a top priority,” he said.

Previous posts include in sports and news reporting for Moncton’s CKCW-CFQM, Q103, CBC Radio and a play-by play announcer for the Wildcats.

An active volunteer, he has previously coached Lewisville Minor Hockey Association, Moncton AAA Midget Flyers and Moncton Lions minor baseball.

Kingston represented Moncton as an official delegate to Ryazan, Russia, Moncton’s “Twin City” for the winter active international program.

Kingston previously put his name forward in the postponed 2020 election.
