BROCKTON – It looks like the municipality is heading for a record year, as far as building is concerned, Mayor Chris Peabody said at the Aug. 10 council meeting.

The building report presented by Dieter Weltz, building and planning manager, included the 2021 statistical review for the first seven months.

January saw projects valued at almost $1 million; February doubled that. From March on, the project value has been over $4 million each month, with June seeing a remarkable $7,331,000. The total value of projects to the end of July is $30,526,694, with 125 permits issued.

Last year at this time, there had been 119 permits issued for a project value of $17,748,918.

Peabody commended staff for all the hard work they’ve been doing.
