In news that you could describe as "noice!" Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress Melissa Fumero has announced that she has given birth to her second child.

Fumero, who plays Sergeant Amy Santiago in the NBC sitcom, revealed on Instagram that she welcomed a second son with her husband David on Valentine's Day and also announced the unique name that they've chosen for their baby.

Sharing a cute black and white photo of the baby sleeping, she wrote: "Welcome to the world, Axel ... You have made Valentine’s Day my new favorite holiday!"

Fans were quick to congratulate the actress and welcome little Axel to the Nine-Nine family.

Fumero's co-stars were also clearly delighted with Stephanie Beatriz, who plays Detective Rosa Diaz, commenting on the photo: "So happy for you & your beautiful family!!! You're a badass!"

Fumero, who has been playing Amy since the show began in 2013, already has a three-year-old son named Enzo with David, who she married in 2007.

She revealed that she was expecting again in November when she shared a photo of her baby bump, explaining that she'd been keeping the news quiet.

"Oh yeah, I’m hella pregnant. To be honest, I haven’t felt like posting about it because this pregnancy has been way harder and… I don’t feel that cute?" she said.

"But yesterday I got a really intense massage, an awesome chiropractic adjustment, and my hair feels thicker… so I feel a little bit cute today."

The actress' first pregnancy was written into the show briefly when Amy went undercover as a pregnant inmate at a women's prison in the hopes that a pregnancy would help protect her.

There has been no word on whether her most recent pregnancy will appear in the show's seventh season, which has just begun airing in the US - but could it pave the way towards a baby for Amy and her on-screen husband Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg)?

The Golden Globe-winning sitcom will also be getting an eighth season after another run of episodes was greenlit in November, before season six had even begun airing.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs on NBC in the US and E4 in the UK. Seasons 1-5 are also streaming on Netflix in the UK.
