Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies search for suspect in hit-and-run that killed woman

Broward deputies are searching for a driver involved in a hit-and-run that killed a woman near Northwest 38th Street in Oakland Park.

Broward deputies are on the hunt for a person who hit an 80-year-old woman with their car and killed her Wednesday night, authorities said. A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

Just before 8 p.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue were called to a hit-and-run crash near Northwest 38th Street and Northwest Ninth Avenue, officials said.

A preliminary investigation revealed Barbara Price, 80, was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk when a light blue 2005 to 2009 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SUV struck her.

Investigators say the front passenger side of the SUV hit her, causing her “to be projected” off the road.
