Bruce Almighty, a cat, is healing well and walking a bit after taped paws trauma

Famous Saskatchewan cat Bruce Almighty up for adoption

Bruce Almighty, the cat found with serious injuries to his paws which were bound by electrical tape, is on the way to a full recovery according to the Regina Human Society.

The society said the cat's legs continue to heal and he can now walk short distances.

His situation prompted an online fundraising campaign, which has raised over $24,000 for the humane society.

"Bruce Almighty — and all the people that helped him — will be able to help a lot of other animals as well," Lisa Koch, from the society said.

She added the cat is expected to make a full recovery, although it will take several more months.

"Physically we are really pleased [with his progress]," Koch said. "Emotionally he's really come out of his shell and enjoys as much attention as he can possibly get . In fact, he prefers his tummy being rubbed to almost anything else."
