New Brunswick reports 306 new COVID-19 cases, 147 Omicron variant cases so far

FREDERICTON — New Brunswick has reported 306 new cases of COVID-19.

Officials say on Tuesday that 139 recoveries have also been reported, bringing the active case count to 2,017.

To date, 147 cases in the province have been confirmed to be caused by the Omicron variant of the virus.

There are now a total of 38 people in hospital, including 13 in ICU.

This comes as New Brunswick moves into Level 2 of the government's COVID-19 winter management plan.

At the new level, residents must limit their contacts to 10 consistent people, and businesses and event venues are to operate with in capacity limits, among other restrictions.
