New Brunswick reports one new case of COVID-19 and 23rd pandemic-related death

FREDERICTON — New Brunswick is reporting its 23rd COVID-19-related death.

Health officials said today a resident in their 80s of the Manoir Belle Vue long-term care facility in Edmundston has died as a result of underlying complications including COVID-19.

Officials are reporting one new case of COVID-19 today, involving a person in their 50s in the Edmundston region.

The Edmundston area remains at the "red" pandemic-alert level while the rest of the province is under the lower, "orange" level.

The province says it has 140 active reported infections and six patients in hospital with the disease, including two in intensive care.

New Brunswick has reported a total of 1,401 COVID-19 infections.
