New Brunswick weather: Hot start to week with high near 30 C

The work week will start out warm, says CBC meteorologist Peter Coade, with an area of high pressure situated to the south of the province pumping warm air across the region today with temperatures approaching 30 C.

However, Coade says the sunshine and warm temperatures won't last.

"A disturbance moving from west to east over central Quebec will push some cloudiness across much of the Maritimes tonight that will stick around much of tomorrow before moving out," Coade said.

"This cloud will likely produce some showers — mostly in New Brunswick and possibly some thundershowers in the more northern communities of that province."

Temperatures on Tuesday aren't expected to be as warm as Monday, but Coade says they will still be warmer than normal.

"Wednesday will again be mostly sunny with warmer than normal temperatures while a disturbance starts to slip south across New Brunswick to bring rain to that area and Prince Edward Island for Thursday and likely some showers to Nova Scotia Thursday night," Coade said.

Coade said it appears as though the week will end with showers on Friday and some rain over the weekend.

"All in all temperatures will be warmer than the normal for the entire week but cooler in the last few days and the weekend and falling to below the norm with rain on Sunday," he said.
