New Brunswick weather: Rain and wind expected on Friday

The weather outlook for New Brunswick on Friday sees things clouding over and turning to light rain and fog, before a return to sunny conditions on Saturday to begin the long weekend.

CBC meteorologist Peter Coade says rain and fog patches are expected to take hold throughout the province on Friday afternoon.

The northern part of the province will see about five millimetres of rain during the day, with another 10 mm overnight.

Fredericton and area is forecast to get five millimetres of rain during the day with another 10 mm overnight.

Southern New Brunswick will also see periods of rain developing in the west and spreading to the east on Friday, with another 10 to 20 mm of rain expected to fall in the southwest overnight and another 10 mm in the southeast.

Saturday's forecast calls for sunny skies with windy and cool conditions.

Northern and central New Brunswick will see a daytime high temperature of 8 C on Saturday while southern areas can expect a daytime high of 8 to 10 C.
