New Brunswick weather: Snow and blowing snow on Thursday

New Brunswick will see up to 15 centimetres of snowfall before Friday morning and blowing snow due to a strong wind, according to CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.

Snow will begin in the Fredericton area later on Thursday morning and roughly five centimetres of snow will fall throughout the day.

The temperature in the capital region will be about –4 C during the day and with the wind chill, it will feel like –9.

About 10 cm of snow will fall in the Fredericton area on Thursday night, tapering to flurries. Wind will become southwest gusting to 60 km/h. The low temperature will be about –12 C.

There is a chance of of flurries in the Fredericton area, with blowing snow, on Friday.

Elsewhere in southern New Brunswick, it will be cloudy and windy with a chance of flurries on Thursday morning.

Snow will begin Thursday afternoon giving up to five centimetres of snow. Wind will be coming from the east and gusting to 40 or 50 km/h. The high temperature will be about –4 C and it will feel like –10.

Southern New Brunswick will see about 10 cm of snow, tapering to scattered flurries, on Thursday night. East wind will die down this evening. The wind will pick up from the southwest overnight. The low temperatures will be about –8 C.

Southern New Brunswick will see a mix of sun and cloud on Friday, with strong southwest wind, gusting to 80 km/h in the southeast.

In northern New Brunswick, it will be cloudy with a few flurries on Thursday. The wind will be blowing east to northeast. The high temperatures will be about –6 C and it will feel like –11.

On Thursday night, up to 15 cm of snow will fall in the north. The overnight low temperature will be about –10 C.

On Friday, the north will see scattered flurries and blowing snow.

People living in the Acadian Peninsula will feel southwest wind that will gust up to 70 km/h.
