New Brunswick weather: Snow could fall overnight

Many parts of New Brunswick could see some snow fall on Friday night, according to CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.

Coade said some light snow is possible overnight as temperatures fall in the wake of trough of low pressure that is moving through the region.

"Saturday will continue unsettled with some scattered showers in the cooler weather but a marked improvement can be expected with a bit more in the way of sunshine on Sunday," he says.

Earlier on Friday, Coade says New Brunswickers can expect a mainly cloudy day with a chance of showers.

The northeast is the only area where showers are not expected, says Coade.

In the Fredericton area, there's only a slight chance of early morning showers.

In the northwest rain will develop this afternoon with a risk of thundershowers, he says.

There will be fog patches along the Fundy coast today, says Coade.

The wind will be south to southwest gusting to 60 km/h.

High temperatures today will range from 10 C on parts of the Fundy coast, to 14 C in the Fredericton area, and 18 C inland in northern New Brunswick.
