New Brunswick weather: South faces up to 5 cm of snow Thursday

Thursday will be a grey day across New Brunswick with a few centimetres of snow expected in the south, says CBC meteorologist Peter Coade, as another low pressure system moves in.

"This new area of low pressure will slide across the region overnight tonight laying down another blanket of snow, although amounts will be slight," Coade said.

As this last low pressure system in a series moves out, Coade says the "gates will be open" to some very cold arctic air.

On Friday afternoon, high temperatures will be well below normal at –14 C in the north and –10 C in the south.

"Our weekend weather however will see a slow-moving, snow-maker move in," he said.

Coade predicts snow for the Maritimes on both Saturday and Sunday.
